Wilder Laboratories, Room 317
I joined the Lynch Rocket Lab when I started my Ph.D. in September, 2019, under the advisement of Kristina
Lynch. Colloquially known as the 317 Lab due to its location in Room 317 of Wilder Laboratories, the
lab has been a place of both mentorship and learning for me. I have had, not just the privilege of being
mentored by Kristina and many other seasoned scientists and engineers, I have also had the opportunity to mentor
one graduate and five undergraduate students.
From tutorials to engaging discussions, structuring the knowledge I've gained throughout my studies and career
and passing it on to future scientist—whom I wholeheartedly trust will bring our research to next levels—has
been a great experience. On top of that, the mentorship from Kristina has been invaluable; her patience and her
remarkable ability to pull me out of research rabbit holes have facilitated my research and growth as a
scientist beyond measure.
The lab cultivates a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere that thrives on interdisciplinary learning. Our
mission to study the structure and dynamics of the auroral ionosphere is a collective effort, engaging everyone
in the process. With teams dedicated to hardware development, mechanical and electrical design, plasma testing,
simulations, and theoretical research, we create a rich and diverse work environment that fosters innovation and
discovery.
